If snorkeling or diving takes your fancy, a trip by dhow, a traditional Zanzibarian boat, to nearby Mnemba reef can be easily arranged. The ride itself is worthwhile, giving you great views of the northern peninsula. Alternatively, join in a late afternoon game of beach volleyball with the local boys who will be delighted to have you on the team, even if you are the world’s worst player.

At sunset enjoy a refreshing drink from the bar while you choose from a mouth watering selection of local dishes. We can highly recommend White Sand’s lobster – the best.

 In low season, when the only footprints in the sands may be your own, it is even possible to take over the kitchen and cook up your favorite meal using local ingredients. Lovers of Italian food will be delighted to hear that pasta is almost available.
